Appearance: Hal is a soldier, so he is fit and muscular. Rugged and tanned from being outside. He’s covered in scars from battles. Dark green tunic and leggings, leather armor and sword that had belonged to his father.
Personality: Hal is fearless and is the first into a fight. He is highly protective of his master, the young prince Kyle O'Riordan. He can't abide the mistreatment of the weak.
Background: Hal is an Anglo-Saxon from Essex. He became a mercenery for the king of Northumbria and was sent to Ireland as a hostage to seal a peace treaty, where he met Kyle, a nephew of the King of Dal Riata. Because of his affection for the young man, Hal decided to stay in Ireland as Kyle’s servant (and lover), thereby getting himself labeled a traitor by the Britons.
